1824 in 2007

Sweater 2 of this year (and of my life) complete.

1824 Blouson
pattern: 1824 Blouson by Mari Lynn Patrick from Summer 07 IK
needles: 4.50 mm (US 7) Addi Turbos 24" circs
yarn: Cascade Luna in Ginseng (715)
mods: No notable ones I can remember.

It seems to me that across the web this pattern has a bad rap. I, on the other hand, fell in love with it the moment I saw it.

A lot of people don't like reverse stockinette stitch, but that was what drew me to this pattern. This yarn looks beautiful in stockinette as well, but it worked really well with the reverse st st. I loved the cute faux raglan increases too.

The turned sleeve cuffs and pleats are part of the sweet details that really made this sweater for me.

I bought 14 skeins of the yarn and used a little more than 12. I have one full skein and parts of two left. This yarn is wonderfully soft and comes in a ton of colors. I'll definitely use this yarn again.

So the first picture is the only good one I have of me wearing the sweater. (It's quite interesting to get the right amount of sunlight and the right position in this tiny sunless dorm.) I would take another one, but I was really unhappy with one of the seams so I tore it off and am in the middle of fixing it. But I swear, this sweater is super comfy and I can't wait until I can wear it!

It's totally beautiful! It looks far better on you than it did in the magazine, imho.
